Notre Dame Stadium
August 11th, 2005 by Ethan
Orientation has been pretty standard thus far. Until today, that is. Today we were privileged to tour the Notre Dame Stadium. We were led over to the stadium by a bagpiper, dressed in a kilt and playing quite the part. When we arrived, we were introduced to the stadium groundskeeper. We were led down the tunnel to the locker rooms. We were permitted to go up to the locker room and look in, but weren’t allowed to walk around because they had been working on the floor.
After that, we went back down and onto the field area. Due to the rain, we weren’t allowed to run on the field, but we did take some pictures at the edge of it. Even considering the weather, it was a total blast. After our time on the field, we went back inside the stadium and up to the press box that overlooks the entire field and campus. We ate lunch in the press box/skybox area and were spoken to by Digger Phelps, the winningest basketball coach in Notre Dame history. He was very interesting and spoke for almost 2 hours. It was a real treat and a very special time.
I’ve posted a good number of the pictures that I took during the day on my Flickr account that I mentioned yesterday. Check out the slideshow if you can, and let me know what you think.

I just want to contact you and find out how you got to do this? Excuse my lack of knowledge- are you a college student can just anyone tour the locker room, tour the field, etc??
I have a plan for a surprise for my husband and I just want to know where to begin to get my hands on something as special as this. Is it even possible? Any information you can give me would be so helpful.
Thanks
